The Chief Performance Office manages several Communities of Practice (COPs) to bring together employees from across agencies and departments to share knowledge, collaborate on common challenges, and build skills in key areas. Whether you’re looking to enhance your problem-solving abilities, leverage technology to improve efficiency, or connect with colleagues in your field, our COPs provide structured opportunities to learn and grow.
Continuous Improvement Network
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Network is a dynamic community dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across state government. Through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional development, the CI Network helps build a more effective and efficient government for Vermonters. Anyone in state government can join at any time—no prior continuous improvement training is required.
CI Network members have access to the following learning opportunities:

Continuous Improvement Speaker Series – Monthly presentations featuring CI experts and authors from outside the State of Vermont.

Webinar Series – Monthly learning topics to deepen understanding of principles, tools, or resources to support your work.

Advanced Problem Solver Meetings – Quarterly networking and discussion sessions for those who complete the Advanced Problem Solver Learning Path, focusing on leading continuous improvement efforts.

Operational Excellence Leader Meetings – Quarterly networking discussions for those who complete the Operational Excellence Leader Learning Path, focusing on building a high-performance culture.

Government Communities of Practice
The Government Communities of Practice connect subject matter experts from across departments and agencies to learn, collaborate, share best practices, and develop strategies for common challenges in their field.
There are currently 7 groups that meet on a monthly basis. All groups are facilitated by volunteer subject matter experts.
- Accessibility - Topics related to ensuring equitable access to services and resources.
- Community Engagement - Topics related to building community relationships in order to better inform programs and processes.
- Data Management & Analysis - Topics related to collecting, visualizing, analyzing, managing and interpreting data or information.
- Financial Services - Topics related to budgeting, payments, financial reporting, VISION, and VANTAGE.
- Grants & Contracts - Topics related to developing, managing, and reporting on grants and contracts according to Bulletins 5 and 3.5, respectively.
- Project & Change Management - Topics related to planning and executing successful projects and change initiatives.
- Workforce and Organizational Development -Topics related to building a resilient and capable workforce and improving organizational performance.

TechHub
TechHub is a Microsoft Team open to all state employees, offering a space to enhance your efficiency with tools such as Office 365, Power Platform, Adobe, DocuSign, and more. It serves as a one-stop shop for technology learning, collaboration, and support.
TechHub Members have access to the following ongoing learning opportunities.
- Tech Training Series - Training sessions on Office 365, Power Platform Teams, Adobe, Docusign, and other common and emerging technologies used within the state.
- Open Office Hours - A dedicated Q&A session with internal tech experts to address issues and solve problems.
- Community Demos - Come see how other state employees are using tech in innovative projects and solutions, demonstrating how tech tools can transform workflows and boost productivity.
