The ERP Modernization Program is an initiative to upgrade and streamline our core enterprise systems—covering HR, finance, and budget management—to enhance efficiency, user experience, and data security across all state departments.
Our current systems are aging and lack the capabilities needed for modern, efficient operations. By upgrading to a unified platform, we aim to reduce redundancy, improve collaboration, and ensure long-term sustainability.
The modernization will impact key systems, including VTHR, VISION, and the budgeting platform, Vantage, by transitioning to a more integrated and cloud-based solution with Workday.

The ERP Modernization Program is structured into key phases designed to ensure a smooth and successful transition over the next four years:
Planning and Preparation – This phase focuses on gathering requirements, engaging stakeholders, and laying the foundation for implementation. We're working closely with state departments and business stakeholders to ensure all needs are accounted for.
Implementation and Integration – During this phase, we’ll begin integrating the new Workday system, testing its functionality, and ensuring seamless collaboration across agencies. The focus will be on data conversion, process optimization, and addressing any challenges that arise.
Go-Live and Transition – This phase involves rolling out the new system in stages over a four-year period, ensuring a smooth transition for all users. The rollout will include comprehensive training, onboarding, and support to address any challenges. Our goal is to equip all users with the tools and knowledge they need to effectively use the system as it becomes available in their areas.
Sustainment and Optimization – Once the system is live, we’ll focus on long-term success by providing ongoing support, addressing feedback, and exploring opportunities for continuous improvement.
